I m talking here about time before windows loadup not after windows loadup.

• first thing to check is your hard drive! try to listen to noise coming from your  hard drive. like hard drive start clicking especialy if you HD is over 2 years old.

• some times this problem can due to video card issue. this it can hapen a lot with NVIDIA video card. Check in problem report in control panel if there are a drivers issue with your video card.

• check startup programs (you can use MSConfig all the programs are runing in your computer) desctivate any program you dont need it in the startup Like wheater bug program …

• try to clean the registry of your computer. at least once a month. there many free software they do a good job. Like CCleaner, ALM Tool Cleaner. When downloading this software, download it from the original website.

• clean your computer from viruses espicialy some rogue at startup.

• avoid this peer to peer software (like limeware, ARES, … )

• avoid to click on links they send you on facebook or other social networks.

run your computer on safe mode . of course with this rogue you can’t use your antivirus already installed in your computer.

use your second computer or a friend computer download combofix into a flash drive or any usb portal drive (IE: external HD, SD Memory …)

before your run combofix better to remove any antivirus in your system, if you can’t do it or you dont know how, you can use combofix but under your own responsability for any conflict it may happen.

after you clean the rogue, you need to clean your registray and any temporary files, internet temp… you can use even ccleaner or AML registray cleaner.

when you make a google search and you click on a link the website you get is not the one you are expected. the link redirect you to an other website.

your internet explorer is Hijaked.

you may try some antivirus in your system, but it doesn’t resolve the problem.

Solution:

Download the superantispyware the free version can resolve this problem.

clean your computer and remove the infection find and that is it.

if you have already superantispyware installed in your computer and you try it and doesn’t fix it. better to remove it and re-install it again. and clean your computer withount Internet connection.

• power off your laptop
• take off the battery
• unplug the charger
• hit the power botton down and keep it down for 30 seconds or maybe a minute
• than put back the battery, your charger and power ON your laptop.

as I say it s only temporary solution until your motherboard get dead totally.

Second solution , Buy a usb Wireless adapter and you are ready to go.

I give this solution just to do not loose your time trying to restore, reinstall drivers. before you make any restore or any other solution try this easy way.

SO, If you are planing to install windows XP over vista ( I’m not sure about windows 7 this article only for vista) the problem is easy. I know you may spend hours or days looking for a solution.

just go BIOS , depend on model computer find drives configuration desactivation the SATA auto configuration.
How to get into BIOS? Most time when your computer startup and before the windows OS start, hit F2 (some times you have to hit Esc or DEL)
